Sano (noun, Tajik)

From Persian-Arabic sanā (ثناء), meaning "praise", "glorification", or "commendation". The term is primarly used in poetic, literary, and religious contexts to denote the act of expressing admiration, gratitude, or reverence. In classical Persian and Tajik literature, sano often appears in hymns, panegyrics, and devotional texts as an invocation of praise directed toward a person, a ruler, or the divine.
SANO Impact Hub is the first creative hub in Tajikistan, built as an ecosystem. We provide creators with a space for collaboration, experimentation, and professional development.

The hub is a physical space located in Dushanbe & an online community of professionals.

SANO Collective

a group of artists and researchers united by an interest in cultural memory as a hybrid form encompassing both personal and collective experience

Our art practice (even when projected online onto the international stage) remains deeply rooted in Tajikistan and the history of Dushanbe, in Tajik poetics and traditions.

The group’s project work includes exhibitions, lectures, residencies, as well as analytical and pioneering practices that help shape the contemporary art scene in Tajikistan.

We work both online and offline in different countries.
